F1 Playlist

A few people seemed interested to see what I had on mine so here it is :D Didn’t properly compile it until earlier this season but some are kinda old, forgive me for some of the bad ones.

  • After The Storm, Mumford & Sons; Ok, I admit, some of these are sad ones, and I have a few categories. #ilovecategoriesok This is in the Bruno category ofc, attatched it to him last year when HRT dropped him.
  • Big Bad Wolf, Duck Sauce; obvious reasons. Video still creeps me out and it’s ruined it a tiny little bit.
  • Black & Gold, Sam Sparro; don’t laugh. In the Bruno category, when he was first adopted by LRGP. #theshame
  • The Chain, Fleetwood Mac; obvious reasons
  • Charlie Brown, Coldplay; there are a lot of Coldplay ones. BBC played this on one of their montages, can’t remember which race coverage it was.
  • Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol; again, BBC one from 2010 at some point
  • Dreamer, Supertramp; One in the Seb category. Always though he’s a bit of a dreamer and you can tell how much he loves everything he does. There’s this line, ‘take a dream on a Sunday’ that I thought fitted pretty well!
  • Drive My Car, the Beatles; obvs reasons, and I think the BBC played it last year, or this year at some point.
  • Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Coldplay; another Bruno one, although the BBC play it for everything too.
  • Feel So Close, Calvin Harris; my number one Seb song, the BBC played it after one of his wins this year. <3
  • Fix You (Live), Coldplay; specifically the live one, I don’t like the recorded one as much. This one is sort of in a general Shitty F1 Days category, although mainly obviously Bruno recently. Just something about 20,000 people singing the chorus makes me feel better, always.
  • Float On, Goldspot; another in the general Shitty F1 Days category
  • Fuck You, Cee Lo Green; idk why I put this in here, I think I always imagine a fanvid set to this, and in my mind it’s after Felipe has left Ferrari and sees Alonso still driving. It fits the lyrics, go look >___> #totallynotinsane
  • Friday I’m In Love, the Cure; always play it on a Friday after practices <3
  • I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor (Live), Arctic Monkeys; BBC played it once, or maybe it was on a race edit. Can’t remember :/ Like the live version better.
  • Levels, Avicii; the motorsport world seems to adore this almost as much as they adore Coldplay. It’s in my Bruno category because it was played after Brazil qualifying by the BBC this year and will always remind me that he has the talent and all he needs now is some luck. <3 It was played a lot during RoC this year and yesterday at the Homerun too.
  • Life is a Highway, Rascal Flatts; idk, I though it suited it, and it was the song I was obsessed with during the summer break.
  • Lift me Up, Moby; old ITV intro theme! The Chain is much better though, haha.
  • Louder, DJ Fresh; probably my main F1 song, if I can have one ;p It was on the Singapore race edit, and all the lyrics fit it- ‘We’re building a dream that we’ve always had clear in our sights’, ‘we’re having the time of our life’ ‘Faster, Louder, Stronger, Better’. I just love it :3
  • Major Minus, Coldplay; instantly became my Hamilton/Felipe song, for lyrical reasons, haha.
  • On Melancholy Hill, Gorillaz; either on a race edit or BBC, can’t remember.
  • Paradise, Coldplay; BBC play it all the time, also in my Bruno category, I think they played it after Spa qualifying, can’t remember. :/
  • Read My Mind, Killers; another BBC song from last year, from one of the rare races where Bruno’s HRT didn’t die.
  • Road to Nowhere, Talking Heads; BBC song from this year! Been waiting 3 years for them to FINALLY play it, :D
  • Sam’s Town [Acoustic], the Killers; another live one, thought it fitted F1 pretty well sometimes.
  • Secret World, Peter Gabriel; another BBC song from last year, I think
  • Shut Your Eyes, Snow Patrol; came from this idea I liked and ran with a while back, about how F1 drivers when they close their eyes, they can only see themselves driving tracks, as if through their visor. #notweird #notweirdatall
  • Sledgehammer, Peter Gabriel; BBC song, they love him!
  • Take Back The City, Snow Patrol; BBC song from Monaco, maybe it was last year, idk
  • U.F.O, Coldplay; in the Bruno section, re:LRGP. But tbh it applies to his whole career, I think. #fail But it’s beautiful and somehow hopeful, idk.
  • Undisclosed Desires, Muse; another BBC one
  • Unsquare Dance, Dave Brubeck; hey look, some jazz! I always imagine a fanvid to this, not sure why because it’s quite empty/slow/doesn’t really apply to F1. ahwell
  • Us Against The World, Coldplay; another Bruno one. gawd maybe I should make his category less depressing
  • Welcome To The Black Parade, MCR; song in that ITV video that is basically our fandom’s anthem, other than the Chain. <3 love love love that video and the song fits everything, it used to be my Ayrton song before ITV did that.
  • What If, Coldplay; most recent addition, it’s not in my playlist but I thought I’d add it, because it was the song on Friday morning that made me break down after the LRGP news. Happy times xD
  • When You Were Young, the Killers; a race edit once, can’t remember which one.
  • Winter Winds, Mumford & Sons; always reminds me of the winter break, ahah.
  • You Get What You Give, New Radicals; in my general Shitty F1 Days category.

  2. leucocrystal said: I realize the BBC were kind of in love with Coldplay for EVERYTHING this year, but the combo of playing “Every Teardrop” behind that one Bruno video and the lyric “so you can hurt, hurt me bad/ but still I’ll raise the flag” make it a Bruno song. ;)
